There are a variety of pictures this week. We had the last of the curiosity corners from level one this week. They had air and how things move. They did several things where the students could try things. We had parachutes and making air planes among them. Anne Carthy needed pictures of the students from Nuba Mountains—supporters often want pictures of a group they are supporting. So that is the group pictures.
The men on bicycles with bags of charcoal is a bit of creativity on the part of the compound manager, John. The place where he normally goes to buy charcoal is experiencing some trouble on the road. He has gone to the market and found many men that have two or three bags of charcoal. He has contracted with them to bring it on their bicycles. So every few days we have had a bicycle brigade! I couldn’t get the whole group but there were times when there were eight of them at a time. Usually they also made more than one trip in a day. Where there’s a will, there’s a way!
Our four worker were together unloading the pickup one day and I went to take a picture. Then they were posing. Notice Paulino with part of his shirt lifted. He wanted to show his fancy belt buckle!
This is our final week of classes and then the next week is exams. Graduation will be the 19th. The term has gone by fast and the students have been wonderful but they have lived with tension and insecurity for several months now.
All best wishes and please continue prayers for the peace process in South Sudan.
