A number of things happened that I documented with my camera! Brother Bill Firmin, the executive director of Solidarity came for meetings and to visit. There is a picture of him talking to the level two students under the teak tree. He’s a former science teacher so he did a little science lesson with them.
This seems to be a level two student week! The level two students continued their motivation project. There are pictures of them with more signs. The four students with Sr. Margaret are the ones who got their books as an incentive for speaking English. The level two’s had physical changes of solids, liquids, and gases in science. I made frozen yogurt for them—liquid to solid and back to liquid. They loved it and want more. The pictures with children are some of them at Masia nursery school doing activities. They did very well with a variety of activities.
The last pictures are two activities with the Bridging group who are working to strengthen their English before beginning English next term. We were working on senses in science. They did sight—mixing colors. The other sense was touch and we were describing things they feel. The blindfolds are courtesy of airlines. When I have traveled overnight they’ve given out the blindfolds to encourage sleep. I save so many things in hopes of using for science!
