Happy feast of St. Francis! It was a busy week finishing up classes with the Level 3 & 4 students before they start exams. They do exams and then start their practice teaching. Londo Edwards who is one of our South Sudanese who teaches here at the college was sent for training regarding inclusive education with those who have disabilities. Part of the agreement was that he would do training of other teachers. He did the workshop at the county education office. Some of our graduates from in-service training took the workshop. I have included some pictures of the people at the workshop.
Our Level 2 students did community service this Saturday playing with the children from the Star group. These are the children of people with HIV/AIDS. The Christian Brothers sponsor tea and lunch for the children once a month and ask our students to play with the children in organized games. They were just getting started when I took these pictures.
I know some of you were concerned about me carrying seeds to South Sudan. The corn didn’t do well at all. The green beans struggled to germinate but the few plants that did germinate are doing pretty well producing beans. We have had three handfuls which we have added to stir fries and fried rice. Even those few have been a nice crunchy addition.
