Yesterday was an interesting morning. I had been invited to be part of a symposium with JRS to encourage girls' education. There were about 20 girls from Senior one, two and three. There were also some parents present. I thought there would be other speakers but I was it along with Sister Elizabeth who was the coordinator, doing some of the introductions and questions. It was a very nice group of young girls. Their discussion was good and thoughtful.
The other pictures I'm sending are of students leaving. We are down to 13 with 3 of those still to go. The rest will not leave because of the distance and danger. I've started them playing Phase 10, scrabble, uno, and rumikub. We are also letting them watch some dvds we have--science about the Earth and Africa. We had the movie Whale Rider last night. They also asked to watch football(soccer) today for awhile. We told them tomorrow they have to work for awhile!
Concerning the students leaving--Solidarity chartered a 12 seat plane to get some of the staff to Wau and to transport students to Wau, some Wau students back to Yambio and both Wau and Yambio students to Juba. With both the CHTI medical students and the STTC teachers needing to move it worked well.
